Old Flat Green Steam Skin

The Old Flat Green is a Steam skin that harkens back to the early days of Steam’s first gaming platform. While it comes with somewhat dull colors, its interface is still functional and likable.

About Skin Color and design

Old Flat Green skin for Steam client is mainly made up of a blend of army green and grey color scheme. The general look of the skin is old school and has a classic Steam feel to it. The skin isn’t complex in terms of user interface re-writes and doesn’t allow for tweaking of the central Store page either.

However, presentation of information and buttons over the Steam client is clean with such sections as the games list, main game highlight, achievements and recent news laid out conspicuously. The Steam header and background, which combine hues of green and grey, are minimalistic and offer a generally soothing interface.

The skin’s color scheme is a little darker and that makes text and icons of lighter shades to stand out boldly. While the font is a little smaller, it isn’t that strenuous to the eye. Active sections are highlighted in yellow while important sub-headings use a blend of smooth blue and yellow text colors.

Maneuvering around Old Flat Green’s Steam client is quite easy as headings, section links and other subheadings are organized quite impressively. Icons such as Big Picture Mode and other small Steam utilities are conveniently placed on the right side of the header, making configuring the Steam quite seamless.

The only challenge with using this skin is that it has some issues with the latest update of the Steam UI. Otherwise on a modest earlier Steam interface, it is just super functional.
